Sub : Procedure
for use of
Facility for export of Maruti Vehicle from
1. M/s. Maruti Udyog Limited have been granted permission to export
vehicles from Mumbai Port also in addition to the general permission granted
vide Public Notice No. 44/19.04.90 issued by the Collector of Customs, J.N.Port, Sheva from F.No.S/6-48/90 Exp (copy enclosed) for
their exports from JNPT.
2. For the exports of vehicle from JNPT
the existing procedure
as laid down under Public Notice No.44/90 will continue.
3. However, the procedure for entry of Maruti vehicles into JNPT port, completion of PDI inspection and exit thereof for
final export from
4. The person/s incharge of the
conveyances carrying the Maruti vehicle will report
to the P.O. at Port Gate alongwith the
documents certifying clearance of the
vehicles in question from the factory of manufacture such as Excise attested invoices, AR E-I forms, Central
Excise Gate passes etc. He shall also furnish Form 13 A in
duplicate to the Preventive Officer wherein the Engine No. as well as the
Chassis no. of the vehicle shall be
mentioned for reference. The Port of loading
5. The vehicles shall be unloaded and
stored in the area demarcated specifically by the Port authority for vehicles meant
for export through
6. At the time of removal of the vehicles to Mumbai
Port for export, the person in charge of conveyance of vehicles shall again
approach the Port Gate Officer and make outward entry in the register and again
get Gate Officers endorsement on Form
13A, who will finally pass out the vehicles in question through the Port
Gate for final export through
Mumbai Port.
7. The removal of vehicles for export
shall be batchwise, strictly in order of their
arrival in the Port, i.e., the batch of vehicles brought first shall be
exported first. Under no circumstances
the PDI facility should be used for segregation or storage of the vehicles.
8. The procedure would come into effect
immediately and shall remain in effect until further orders.

: Procedure for Export of Motor vehicle from the Jawaharlal Nehru Port.
.
The admission of Motor Vehocle arriving from up country factories into the Port of the Export of such vehicles shall be as per the procedure prescribed here under :-
1. The persons in charge of the conveyances carrying the vehicles would report to the Preventive Officer at the Container Gate. The Preventive Officer shall peruse the documents certifying clearance of such vehicles from the factory of manufacture such as Excise attested Invoices A.R-4 forms, Central Excise gatepPasses etc. On being satisfied that the number and description of the vehicles tallies with the description on the documents he shall permit the conveyances to enter the Port area.
2. The vehicles shall be unloaded and stored in an area specifically demarcated by the Port Authorities.
3. The Exporter shall file the Shipping Bills for Export Freight Station at Kalamboli during office hours on Customs working days. On ascertaining that the shipping Bill are complete, the Asstt. Collector shall depute the proper officer for examining the vehicles in the Port area.
4. On examination if the proper officer is satisfied that the shipment is in order, he shall give the Let Ship order.
5. The Port Authority and the person in charge of the conveyance shall not allow the loading of vehicle unless the vehicles are cleared for loading as per Section 61 of the Customs Act, 1962.
6. Where mandatory spares are being exported alongwith the vehicles the relevant provisions of the paragraphs above would apply.
7. The Exporters, Custom House Agents, Shipping Agents and others concerned may note that the services of Customs Officer shall be available only during the Customs working hours and on Sunday and Holiday would be available only on payment of overtime charges. The application for overtime charges and the payment of fees should be done sufficiently in advance.
8. The procedure would come into effect immediately and shall
remain in effect until further orders.
